In the economics program, students examine the sources of economic growth and how societies produce more of what they need. Economics is the study of how societies produce and exchange goods and services to satisfy material needs. The macroeconomics track of the economics minor focuses on the overall economy, and the microeconomics track examines the economic behavior of the individual.
New and prospective students should refer to the most recent catalog for a detailed description of the economics curriculum, available on the registrar's website: www.northeastern.edu/registrar/courses/cat1314-acad-sh-econ.pdf. Current students should check their progress by doing a degree audit at the undergraduate student portal (myNEU).
