The Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in economics provides students with a traditional course of study focused on learning and applying economic tools of analysis to the real world. It balances economic theory with its application to issues and problems that students are likely to confront throughout their lives. The BS or BA degree provides excellent preparation for the world of work, in the near and long term, and for graduate school, whether in economics, business law, or some other area.
New and prospective students should refer to the most recent (2009-10) catalog for a detailed description of the economics curriculum, available on the registrar's website: www.northeastern.edu/registrar/courses/cat0910-117-120.pdf. Current students should check their progress by doing a degree audit at the undergraduate student portal (myNEU).
