The EGSA is Recognized
as an Official Organization
- The
University has formally recognized the EGSA as an
official organization. What does this mean?
Among other things, the EGSA can now apply
for funding from the University to hold social events.
If you have ideas for how to use this funding,
attend one of the EGSA meetings or submit your idea
to us at casegsa@neu.edu.
Interested in
Getting Together with Other Students?
- If
you would like to organize an informal gathering--whether
it's a trip to a movie, out for dinner, to a sporting
event, or to a seminar--you can send an e-mail to
us at casegsa@neu.edu
and we will forward it to all of the Economics graduate
students. In the near future, we hope to have
a bulletin board up and running so that anyone can
post announcements.
EGSA Officers
- The new EGSA officers are Aziz
Karimov (president) and Murat Issabayev (Vice President/Secretary). There was a tie for Treasurer (Elena Myronova and Altan Iyigun). A
run-off election for the Treasurer position will be held by e-mail the
week of 20 October.
Boston-area
Seminars
- Would
you like to attend economics seminars in the Boston
area? Go to our seminars web page to see what's
going on in Boston. If you would like to add
to our list, please let us know at casegsa@neu.edu.
Conference
Funds Available
- Are
you interested in attending or presenting at a conference?
The Graduate and Professional Student Association
(GPSA) provides funding for conference travel. For
details, go to the GPSA web site (http://www.gpsa.neu.edu/getfunding.html).
