The Northeastern University Economics
Graduate Student Association (EGSA) provides a forum
for graduate students to voice ideas, concerns, and problems related to graduate
student life in order to improve the graduate student experience
in the economics department. Areas of discussion may include, but
are not limited to: social occasions, curriculum and course offerings, office space
and improvements, and available technology.
EGSA meetings are open to any graduate student wishing to attend. The Faculty Liaison to the EGSA,
the Graduate
Coordinator, and any other faculty or staff member with expertise or
interest in issues being discussed are invited to attend when appropriate. The EGSA
meets approximately monthly. The agenda for each meeting is primarily
formed through suggestions made by
the graduate students and the Faculty Liaison, but other faculty members and
staff may request issues for discussion. (Contact
Us if you wish to submit an item for the the agenda
for the next meeting.) Minutes of the EGSA are
posted on this web site
(see Meetings).
Officers of the
EGSA are elected each fall for a term of one year. Officers must be graduate students in the
department of economics. Any student may
nominate candidates for office and all students registered as economics
graduate students or taking graduate classes in economics may vote for
officers.
